As a clan mother from the Pocasset Wampanoag Tribe of the Pokanoket Nation,I create art that reflects our cultural connection to earth. Our heritage honors the gifts that nature provides.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the colors and shapes that I see around me. The seasonal changes ,the animals and birds that frequent our area, and the changes in our environment are reflected in many parts of my work.
What would you do with $25,000?I would like to share my experiences as a professional tribal artist by creating a book which will not only encompass my pieces but also explain the process of creating natural pieces. I would also like to be able to purchase some more natural materials that I could I could not afford to obtain for future projects.
