I love classical figurative art. I recently completed an MFA in Visual Art and broadened my appreciation to include conceptual art. My Bubble series grew out of an obsession with Tarot cards. We inhabit perceptual bubbles that shift with mood and change with the season. We curate our own media on ubiquitous screens and inhabit separate informational bubbles. At a neurological level, perception is a combination of belief, memory, imagination, expectation and just a bit of visual sensory input.
Where do you find inspiration?People inspire me. My MFA thesis project is an 16ft diameter interactive geodesic dome installation. The large triangular canvas panels feature neuron designs and collaged handwritten questions, exchanged for Tarot readings. Visitors share their stories and questions. The “Oracle” installation creates a space, in time and place, to unplug from media, ask a question, and to listen within for meaning.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use any financial gain to publish my complete Tarot card deck. I would also enjoy continued exhibitions of my “Oracle” geodesic dome installation along with original Tarot and Bubble paintings.
