I use oil and acrylics and love to have objects as a focus in my work. More recently I’ve grown interested in creating abstract work with layered texture. It feels more natural and I’ve been feeling the most comfortable in that style. I feel confident and want to stay with that for awhile.
Where do you find inspiration?Nature. Nature is soothing and peaceful and allows you to create. My imagination can grow and I feel better when I’m outside alone. Seeing the fields, flowers, especially water has that soothing feeling. Outside of that, movies and music are a big source of motivation and inspiration. Good story telling allows me to make art that’s comfortable and creative.
What would you do with $25,000?Create and donate. Creating as an artist can be difficult especially now when everything feels so expensive. I always donate a portion of money when I can to give me some peace of mind. Being an artist is a privilege and I remind myself everyday. I would be grateful to receive support this way and fund it into supplies, space, supplies for younger artists.
