I 'm inspired by movies, culture and music. I try to capture an "imaginary moment in time." with my paintings. Living is for CREATING.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite is ART that makes people wanna have a good time. And forget that the world can be a negative, dystopian, and Chaotic place! People need to have fun and live larger than life. I love to create paintings of Rock n Rollers, Tango dancers, Movie Stars and makers, Movers and Shakers! . I try to make the characters and situations in my paintings larger than life. There is a story and attitude in all of my paintings. IMAGINATION is always more powerful than the reality.
Where do you find inspiration?my inspiration comes from my imagination. when l hear music that gets my attention, and stimulus from the outside world, l get hit with an idea. For example, I'm a huge Stones fan, my painting of "Billiards with the Devil", has Keef Richards playing pool with the Devil in a bar that's purgatory. The history of the blues is represented in the painting. Howling Wolf is the bartender, John Lee Hooker plays guitar. The ghost of Robert Johnson lurks behind Keef. Rock n Roll, Life n Blues on canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?Bet it all on the Roulette wheel! ... just kiddin'. I would hire a nurse for my wife. Pay off debts. Get my sons some new amps and instruments. Send a big check to my Mom. Fix my truck and get a bunch more canvases. If there is anything left over. I will try to save the rest of the world with that.
