Creating art brings me peace. During chemo, I cocooned with my sketchpad & colors; it was where I could escape & feel like myself.

I work primarily with ink, watercolor, and alcohol markers. I’m drawn to magical realism and drawing pieces where nature is larger than life. Inspired by flowers, whimsy, and anthropomorphism, I create pieces that blur the line between the natural and the imaginative—where nature feels expansive, expressive, and deeply alive.
Where do you find inspiration?Like many who have faced unexpected hardships, life has felt chaotic at times. I find inspiration in the blank page—like a writer shaping a story, creating something peaceful that lifts my spirit and, hopefully, others too.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the money to help pay off debt from my cancer treatment after being on reduced income as a teacher. Now in remission but still recovering, this support would make a meaningful difference and allow me to continue creating. I would also donate a portion to the American Cancer Society. Finally, investing in this dream of mine with art classes and supplies would be amazing.
