I'm a painter. I mostly create art for myself. I have various reasons: admiration, joy, and more recently grief and healing.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is paintings. I use acrylics on canvas. I have a passion for taking an idea of an image that lives in your brain and making it something tangible in reality. I've been taking on commissions for custom portraits, fanart, and all the wild ideas AI just can't get right. Paintings I enjoy creating for myself celebrate the enchanting beauty of west coast landscapes, as well as the beauty I see in people, and the emotions they leave me with.
Where do you find inspiration?I love my life on the Oregon coast, as tragic as my life has been lately. I find beauty in my reasons to live. The small things that give me hope each day. Like the view I get to see when I drive into to town, the changing of seasons, the warmth of a cup of coffee, and the excitement of a new book. I also find people inspiring. I often draw and paint people I admire. My sister Angel was one of them.
What would you do with $25,000?I would help my family. We've all been through so much, and I know financial stress is taking its toll on us this year. It'd be nice to get us a win with my paintings. It would mean a lot to me. I've been painting from a place of grief and pouring my entire broken heart into my art. Winning this competition would mean something broken can be beautiful.
