Being able to show my emotions without words is special but hearing how others relate or connect to the piece is truly remarkable.

I have always been amazed by sculptures and the skills it takes to create them in all forms. There's a beautiful blend of vision, artistic skill, steady hand, and physical strain that is necessary to create them. It's an art form that can physically test your will whether its carving marble, casting bronze, or welding and forging forms. Some of the most fulfilling days I've had I leave my studio covered in black soot while dripping in sweat and seeing it show through the piece.
Where do you find inspiration?I have found the best place for inspiration is by listening to others and the world from as much of a neutral perspective as I can. Life is chaos in both constructive and destructive ways, effecting everyone in different ways. Creating abstract sculptures that can be meaningful to anyone that looks at it in their own way is very meaningful to me. They see me through the sculpture and I see them by their reaction or what they choose to share. That moment of human connection is truly sincere.
What would you do with $25,000?My town of Plainfield Illinois created a local art commission that has welcomed people from all forms of artistic backgrounds while bringing the community together. From inspiring new artists to giving a platform for emerging artists they have brought a new outlook to local art. I would like to upgrade my studio to make it more suitable for teaching various skills to others in the community and to help fund the Plainfield Public Art Counsels mission to support local artists and public displays
