I'm highly influenced and intrigued by the avant-garde movement of the fifties in Japan called Gutai. I harvest Freedom of Expression by serving as the medium to communicate that which I do not comprehend with heavy impasto strokes resulting abstract paintings.
Where do you find inspiration?My family, my friends and enemies, my dreams, my fears and life experiences, the universe (ours and others), the spirit guides, the present and the future and most importantly, NATURE and LOVE. The Japanese Gutai art movement and Butoh dance as they demonstrate freedom from the material into a metaphysical realm where ugliness and the grotesque are explored and admired.
What would you do with $25,000?I would advance my educational art skills and would find a quiet painting studio to concentrate on my art work and let go of inhibitions.
