I have been painting since the age of five and never stopped painting! It is a part of my soul, and now I’m winning awards!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I have two favorites! First: Impression/realistic sunset/sunrise marsh scenes with wildlife. Second: paintings with a meaningful story or historical content!
Where do you find inspiration? All around my area of north Florida, the oldest U.S. city St Augustine, Fl are beautiful marshes, sawgrass and coastal scenes which provide a wealth of colorful wading birds, deer, and other wildlife to paint. My other favorite is telling stories in artwork depicting Florida’s history of Cracker cattle & horses. I am also busy working on a large portrait of a centenarian lady whose amazing face embodies tiny faces of all nations and races symbolizing how we are all one.
What would you do with $25,000?During Covid I taught art classes to home-bound elderly all over the country via ZOOM. It was richly rewarding for us all! I would love to continue to offer classes to underprivileged and elderly via ZOOM and in class settings/workshops, assisting those who have the desire and drive, but unable to pursue traditional art schooling for whatever reason. I never forgot those who went out of their way to help me in my lifelong pursuit of art and I want to pay it forward!
