I love drawing, pulling inspiration from real people. Whether I am doing figure drawing or character design, I am inspired by the characters in this world we live in. I like to create whimsical, quirky characters, balancing the light and dark of the world we live in. The mediums I use mostly are graphite, watercolor, ink and color pencil. I have a background in animation that is heavily influenced in my work. I have also done live performance pieces using my body as a paintbrush.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from the world around me, the people in my life, the characters I see on the streets, the news. Some of the inspirations come from parts of myself that I characterize. I am so inspired by people, how we tick, our stories and why we are the way we are. My art reflects this very much. I am simply inspired by being alive and the experience of being human. I love to experiment with different materials. I find joy in having an idea and bringing it to life, not matter how wild it is
What would you do with $25,000?If I had $25, 000, I would renovate my studio space to be a spot for the business I am creating called " The Creative Regulation Lab" It is using creative practices to help regulate the nervous system and heal. As a child art helped me navigate trauma and alchemize it into something beautiful. In a world with so much darkness right now, creating has never been so important. My dream is to help guide people using creativity to unlock their blocks to create art and the life they dream.
