creating art is the only way to puke up my nightmares into the world. working through my issues like this is better than going to therapy.

i love surrealism. Just the fact that my ideas and visions are completely unrestricted by the laws of the natural world, absolutely everything is on the table. I work to put a level of realism in my pieces with lighting and color because i love the technical aspects of those facets juxtaposed with cartoony or even darker more “deranged” pieces i can be as creative as i want and literally let the works natural evolution guide me to wherever the painting wants to go.
Where do you find inspiration?I take inspiration from so many different things. As a deep lover of pop culture i have drawn ideas from comic books, tv shows, and video games. I have also taken so much inspiration from the music i listen too, and other areas of interest, like sea creatures and once even a banana (one of my favourite pieces). so often those things are filtered through my emotions and own experiences, but above all, i never force a piece because of inspiration, but instead let the work guide me.
What would you do with $25,000?over the the last few years I have been doing a steady line up of art fairs and markets (when my job allows) so i would use that money to expand that line up, going to bigger shows and get my work out there to a wider audience in an attempt to find “my people.” I would also put on my own show. i rarely fit in with the work around me at the other shows i am a part of, so i would put on a show with the kind of showmanship and pageantry that would really show who i am.
