I love that art has few limitations. Since Tech and I got a divorce (Tech is seeing an AI Chatbot) I am now free to pursue art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
This is like asking which of my kids is my favorite. I want my work to be viewed in layers. At first glance, I want people to say, “Oh, that’s kind of interesting”, but then I want viewers to engage more deeply and notice that my work can be read and those words have meaning. My work exists across the human spectrum and ideally generates thought and discussion.
Where do you find inspiration?Thematically, my work centers around screens as I’ve been staring at them for a very long time. There is beauty in the banal pixels we take for granted every day. I’m inspired by the good work Designers are doing every day and by re-contextualizing screen elements as art, I seek to elevate the medium by changing its presentation.
What would you do with $25,000?As I’m switching careers, this money would be instrumental in helping me. I would use the money to: 1. Broaden the scope of the presentation of my work 2: Afford me the ability to keep teaching… something I’m also passionate about. I’ve been teaching at CCA here in SF, but recently Vanderbilt bought the campus and is closing it down. I’d love to develop a more independent teaching path.
