Creating in general makes me feel whole in a way that I can’t find doing anything else. My art is an expression of my persona for all to see

Most recently I have focused on pyrography as my main medium. If you were to drill down into what I like to create; it would be images that leaves the viewer creating a story to interpret the meaning of familiar and abstract images. When asked how I refer to my style I term it as “subconscious flow”. This means to say that I allow my pencil to follow the whims of what comes to mind while trying to introduce that theme into a composition that makes the viewers eye move through the piece.
Where do you find inspiration?Since I feel most of what I produce comes from my subconscious I would say I am inspired by what’s going on around me, in the world or fantasy. I love connections. I produce a specialized pieces that tell a story between my kids and their spouses. I have been influenced by artists as varying at Hieronymus Bosch to Robert Rauschenberg. Symbolic references within their work tell a story regardless of the theme the viewer creates a special and personal understanding of what is being presented.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d like to say that I would donate some to charity and who knows it could happen. I was raised to share so not impossible. What I would love to do is rent an RV and drive to the Grand Canyon with my wife. Taking the most indirect route to discover the off the beaten path beauty of our country and the diversity of the people we call countrymen(persons). I would like to stay for a week or so to have a crash course in indigenous art. We would take the long way back to NJ repeating the adventure.
