I love that each nail, stone, piece of wood, and canvas we create a story to share with the world. There is no call greater than to create.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My first love in art is stone sculpting. There is something magnificent about how such a hard substance can be so delicate. How an artist can convince the eye that a stone is alive, soft, or has properties that in reality it doesn’t have. My second artistic love is metal art. The process is different as I add material rather than remove it. Heating & combining different metals so that they bend and take form to what the mind perceives. Each medium has different properties that inspire my growth.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration is derived from many aspects of my life. Nature gives me subject matter such as animals, human anatomy, and forces of nature. I also get inspired by current and historical sculptures. Seeing their pieces transcend time is one of the greatest achievements in my eyes. I wish for my sculptures to be enjoyed and admired in my lifetime and for thousands of years thereafter. My goal is to inspire great thinking, much like many artists before me.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 towards a few growth steps. I am currently working on increasing my workspace by getting a separate studio. Also there are some tools I would love to purchase to increase my efficiency. As well as purchasing additional materials to keep on creating. But the most important part of this process is to share my art with people and to inspire people to create.
