Even though I have experience using so many mediums back when I was in high school over a decade ago, I have always loved working with ink and acrylics. And there is comfort in having control with pen and brush, because it allows me to process so much trauma with every little detail and line I put down. The deeper the story I can tell while working on my art, the better!

My inspiration is my lived experience loving things I was told to hate, and being forced to comply with things I didn't love. I was raised in a cult where I was so isolated and alone, living in disassociation just to get by, and being what I was told to be. This led to my parents feeling my art came from demons and I gave up. But, I find the most inspiration from art made by people who are like me, who use art to heal, tell their story, and let us know they are moving forward.

I would use this money to held others who have left cults and abusive systems, specifically when it comes to using art to heal. To me, this would be about seeing how much of an impact my work can have on people and I would want to give back in some way. I was able to leave the cult and I try so hard every day to tap into the person I want to be, and I want to be able to help others do the same too!
