I paint figurative/surrealist works which are filled with symbolism and historical references, both obvious and obscure.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I like to create paintings that grab your attention but reveal secrets the longer you look at them. Details matter. The details hold the symbolism and references to history, poetry, ideas, customs and other art I that inspire me. I love it when people find a personal connection to my work.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in poetry and music, in history, and in learning about other cultures. I am fascinated by the mythologies we create, by our foibles and our faults, and, most importantly, by our resiliency.
What would you do with $25,000?I would really love to build a proper studio at my house.
