If I didn't have this outlet, I would have killed myself a long time ago. Bringing something unique into the world is very satisfying.

I use acrylic paint through an airbrush with pretty much a stencil process. I outline the shapes with a black ink line. Not much free-hand stuff going on. I started with mostly geometric shapes, but have gradually advanced to making my own more organic shapes, still very much controlled. There's a name for that, but I don't know what it is. Neurodivergent, maybe? I don't have the patience to learn all the words. Sorry. Anyway, my paintings take about 40-50 hours to make.
Where do you find inspiration?I usually start with a pencil grid and a small circle and let it build from there. I never start with an idea. When I have in the past, they've always turned out crappy. The inspiration and ideas come to me during the process. I'm as surprised as anyone at what comes out.
What would you do with $25,000?Pad my nest egg. I'm retired, so feeling more secure is important. I might splurge a little. Have a show, maybe. Buy a couple steaks.
