I love the process of bringing something that exists inside your mind into this physical world. The broad realm of imagination comes alive.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to paint. I depict realistic imagery involving people/figures interacting within unusual environments. I get deeply involved in visual narratives that conjure up a sense of mystery and intrigue. There are also elements of desire, anxiety, humor and existential questioning. I like to probe and investigate the peculiar motivations that drive many of us to certain decisions and directions for the sake of finding meaning throughout our time here.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration comes from many sources. I grew up on television shows, cartoons, comic books, monster movies - I became a sci-fi fanatic. College introduced me to art history and humbled me to all its rich heritage. I've worked as a scenic artist in Hollywood most of my adult life. The amazing creative men and women that I collaborated with elevated my skills to a higher level. All these influences promote an overflow into your own creativity. A high-octane fuel for the extraordinary.
What would you do with $25,000?I would put it to use on travel. There are many places still on my bucket list that I look forward to visiting - parts of the UK that were missed; more stops and ports around the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Aegean. And always a chance to revisit places loved first time around. Experiencing other countries and people has embellished my creative perspective well beyond comfort zones.
