I like several media and subject matter, but my favorites are watercolor architecture compositions, landscapes in both watercolor and acrylic, and animal portraits.
Where do you find inspiration?I find a great deal of inspiration in the “forgotten” and “out of the way”. Many of my architectural works are of buildings that are 100 years old or older, and although many are being rehabilitated, others are basically abandoned. I find beauty in those things that others discard or deem “forgettable”. My landscapes are a celebration of the wonders of nature, capturing a moment that otherwise slips into the stuff of memories. And my animal portraits serve to remember our dearest animal friends.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the money to create my dream artist studio. I currently work from a corner in my living room, and as I often have multiple pieces in process at once, this is challenging. With the money I could expand into a larger space, and not be limited to only spaces in my home, I could afford to rent or even purchase a space. I would also purchase equipment such as tables and art supplies that would allow me greater freedom in the media I use as well as the size of works I could create.
