I love to create art because it was strangely the only thing that believed in me back.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is intuitive, imagination based work that comes from deep within me. I create without a plan, no sketch or clear idea, just letting whatever is there come through. This was the first way I learned to make art, and it is what made me fall in love with it. It gave me a sense of purpose, because channeling my subconscious onto paper feels like giving form to something that did not exist before, like a quiet kind of magic.
Where do you find inspiration? One of my main sources of inspiration is music. I’m almost always listening to it while I paint or throughout the day, and it naturally shapes the mood and direction of my work. I also find inspiration in emotional experiences, especially the ones I don’t fully understand yet. My art becomes a way of processing those feelings, allowing me to express what I can’t always put into words.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were awarded $25,000, I would use it toward pursuing a master’s in art therapy. I would also invest in my artistic development through high quality materials, a dedicated creative space, and continued learning through workshops or classes.
