My work is an outgrowth of my published works in illustration, but now depicting enigmatic themes, fantasy and current world issues.

Realism, specifically magic realism which means it has a fantastic element in it. Magic Realism is similar to surrealism to me, but it also encompasses themes from my Science Fiction and Fantasy illustration work. In addition to works that feel narrative in nature I also explore more enigmatic themes that don't follow any particular story line.
Where do you find inspiration?Growing up I found my inspiration from my Grandmother, Hildegarde Hamilton, who was a famous Impressionist painter. She traveled the world from the turn of the century to the mid 70's. Unlike Hildegarde my works are more introspective and focus on the human condition, our environment, exploration and mystery. I find inspiration in everything these days, our world, the mysterious worlds that can be spectral or fantastic. I explore folklore and science fiction, horror and celestial subject matter
What would you do with $25,000?I would buy a used car for starters because mine is precariously vintage. I would probably pay a few bills and then put the rest in retirement savings.
