When I paint I create my own worlds! There is something magical about taking an idea in your head and making it come to life on canvas.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create landscapes, skyscapes, and horses.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from time spent in nature and from the memories of the horses I rode for over 30 years. I’m moved by the way the wind moves through the trees, and by the quiet magic that unfolds as nature shapes the forests and streams around me. I’m also drawn to the simple moments—a bird’s song, a frog watching from his rock in a pond, the chorus of peepers in the spring—small, fleeting details that stay with me and find their way into my work.
What would you do with $25,000?I would create The Nature & Memory Grant whose goal is to support artists whose work is inspired by the natural world and the memories it holds. It’s rooted in the idea that our connection to the land shapes who we are and what we create—through places, animals, and quiet moments that stay with us. A portion of the grant will support local conservation groups, creating a cycle of inspiration, creation, and care.
