For me, portraiture is more than capturing a likeness; it is an exploration of the 'gaze.' I am drawn to the way a person’s eyes can tell a story that words cannot. My goal is to look past the surface to find the 'soul' of the subject, creating a window into their inner world. Every face is a landscape of experiences, and my work is an attempt to map those psychological depths through light and shadow.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration often comes from the medium itself—the way oil flows on a canvas or the precision of a graphite pencil. I am inspired by the challenge of merging high-level realism with more imaginative, psychological landscapes. I like to take the technical skills I’ve honed in professional assembly and apply that same discipline and detail to my art, exploring the boundaries between the real and the imagined.
What would you do with $25,000?The most significant impact would likely be the creation of a permanent, specialized workspace.
