Im passionate about my work so much that when it's complete I get very excited. It's the outpouring of words to hear that it's so skeptical!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I'm not sure which one will be my favorite part because I'm a silversmith and a inlayer, but if I had to choose one it would be my authentic stones that I use to collaborate my colors from earth tones to modern colors. I use genuine stones from turquoise, coral, shell, black onyx, jet, tiger eye, cresi cola, and any other stones that is natural. I work as an inlayer that is called stone to stone. I get my ideas from mother earths natural outlook and from my indigenous Zuni pueblo culture.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration through my late mother who has showed & taught me how to use the tools of silversmithing and how to use authentic stones. She always said that jewelry making can also give you extra income! Being inspired is much gratitude! I give back by making something out of scrap silver and authentic stones and using it into wearable art with your wardrobe. Having Inspiration by anyone or someone is the key to having a complete mindset of clarity and workmanship.
What would you do with $25,000?Wow..... With $25,000 I would make me a workshop with all reliable tools that comes in handy when silversmithing. Also would like to purchase silver and Buy all sorts of natural authentic stones to always complete my inlaying. I would also open a small gallery to show my work of art of jewelry that has been done with other artists of my Zuni Community. I would also like to help younger generation to understand the art of being a indigenous jewelry maker by showcasing to them on how to start.
