I only ever understand why I create work in hindsight. It’s a mystery as the process unfolds, with revelations as it goes. I cry throughout.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
The art that makes me the happiest are the ones that are birthed from my pain, life experience, and a devotion to becoming my highest self. They are deeply personal. With all of them they are reflections of me, letting go of the past and aiming to be what was designed when the universe exploded into existence. I love to create what brings me peace, through pieces of myself, delivered by inspiration given through source and nuances found in my day to day life. All, highly, symbolic to me.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m struck by inspiration through meditation, music, and the powerful meaninglessness that is life, only given meaning through the lenses of ourselves. The birth of my daughter have been, by far, the most inspirational moments of my life. Loving her has given me the space to truly love myself. To love what I create through reflections of the past.
What would you do with $25,000?I’m not sure, through the universe and faith, I already have everything I could ever want. I would definitely take my wife and daughter on a shopping spree, and an adventure that brings them the most joy. And buy more art supplies.
