What is your favorite type of art to create?

Being Native American of two tribes, my desire to create digital art and beadwork of Native American people using historical photos. I research and study historical photos and the art create from them using one photo or more than one photo for my compositions. I also sometimes include text in my art naming treaty dates and tribal names. My beadwork also include treaty names and dates. I use them to create necklaces, barrettes, and earrings.

Where do you find inspiration?

My inspiration is to use historical photos, treaties, and historical symbolism. I include them in my digital art, paintings, and beadwork. I also use stories my parents told me with their pride. My inspiration is to educate people in the public that we are still here. Treaties have become an important part of my art. They are live documents. I've learned while selling art that most people don't know what a treaty means for Native Americans. Learning details of garments, jewelry, daily utensils.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would be able to purchase ink and paper for my printers. I would be able to travel and see first hand Native American exhibiting historical objects used in their daily lives. This would further my art by visually seeing the details of symbolism and how the object was made on basketry, pottery, rugs, and clothing, accessories. Learning by visually seeing details is used in my art. Exposing my art by traveling to Native Art Marts in other states would be great. I would learn from more tribes.
