Personal expression in any form creates happiness. When we allow ourselves to create freely, we experience a joy that translates to others!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I like taking things that aren’t attractive to the eye (or have seen better days) and using paint or decoupage to give new life to the item. I tell people I’ve painted everything but human skin (as in tattooing) I’ve painted murals on floors, walls, ceilings .. our first home had shingles I didn’t like the color of and even though I’d never been on a roof, I got up there with heavy equipment paint to give them new look and color.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by nature, other artists and by seeing something I love and applying it somewhere new. I once took a design from a pillow, created a stencil and used it to create a pattern on a floor cloth. I have unstoppable imagination, so I will make just about anything a personal expression of me and my personal brand.
What would you do with $25,000?Convert my detached garage into a cool creative lab or studio where I host workshops, classes and community events for individuals and small groups. Not enough take the time to tap into play, art, creative expression. I want to be an influencer who invites and supports my community into the world of creativity, no matter age, demographic or experience.
