Bold, geometric watercolor paintings — and I don’t think that’ll ever change. My process starts with tape-masked shapes that create hard geometric lines, but from there, color takes over completely. I don’t plan palettes in advance; I choose intuitively in the moment. That mix of structure and spontaneity is where the magic lives for me. Every reveal is a surprise, even for me. That’s the part I’m obsessed with.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration lives at the intersection of structure and feeling. I find it in geometric patterns — architecture, textiles, the natural grid of the world around us. But color comes from something more internal: the mood of the day, a season, an emotion I haven’t quite named yet. I don’t start with a plan. I start with a feeling and let the tape hold the edges while everything else flows freely.
What would you do with $25,000?A upgraded dedicated creative studio — no question. A space designed for making art would change everything: better lighting, more storage space, room to work large-scale, freedom to leave a painting mid-process. Beyond the space, I’d invest in expanding the body of work, getting pieces into galleries along with art shows, and growing Firefly Dreams Art into something bigger. $25k wouldn’t just fund supplies — it would fund momentum.
