I make work to disrupt silence, reframe history, and use material, image, and ritual to question power, memory, and who gets to be seen.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is interdisciplinary, fiber-based works that merge with performance, ritual, and mixed media.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in ancestral memory, archival images, and the quiet testimonies held in fabric. My work is shaped by Black spiritual traditions, ritual, and the act of making as a form of healing. I look to history, lived experience, and the unseen, seeking to transform fragments of trauma into sites of beauty, presence, and possibility.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in dedicated studio space and specialized tools for large-scale textile work, including weaving and video production equipment. Funds would support material sourcing, particularly archival fabrics, and enable deeper research.
