Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

Science is art itself and I marry it with the spirit. I love being able to create my spiritual experience. Expressing gratitude, love and loss. I also love landscape capturing a fleeting moments that will stand still in time, my moment that I can share. Sometimes an abstract image will come up in my dreams, and I will feel the need to express it. I’m grateful in that sense that things come to me at rest. I absolutely love creating using oil as my medium, the smell of oil just brings me back home

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration deep in my senses. My artwork is somewhat of a religion to me. It can come from a deep meditation, a song, and nature. A breath when grieving is different and shallow so take that feeling I’ll put myself in front, of my canvas until I can breathe again . I feel through my art. In some sense, Art has saved my life in many ways. Colors that cascade when on Hike in Aspen Colorado. Or trying to capture the blackest of black that in itself is a science.

What would you do with $25,000?

My oldest daughter who is a mother of two was diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension. She was given seven years to live nine years ago. There is no cure for her terminal disease and she lives for her family. Danielle is a teacher and her’s husband is in the reserves. I would give Dani the 25k so she can take a trip with her children somewhere special. You’re only as happy as your saddest child and for me there’s always that, that looms over my soul.
