It was my escape from past trauma I endured as a child,a way out of myself and with that I was able to find and learn my tradtional culture.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I do some carving and I do alot of tattooing as well but its painting,I found that painting was a great outlet for me to deal and heal from my grief and trauma,I paint with the feeling and emotions I'm going thru at that time in my life, it helps me to express the stuff I cant put into words...and I paint from and with my heart
Where do you find inspiration?A big part of it comes from the youth in my community, I worked with a lot and I do some public speaking. I share my story of what I've been thru, survived and how and what I did to turn my life around,to let them know that if I can do it...then so can you
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to open up my own barbershop as I am a barber as well and I do that because I can share my story with people on the daily...if I don't have the answer for someone who genuinely wants to change there way of life then I do have a lot of resources to point them In the right direction. A shop of my own is a dream that I would love so much to achieve in this lifetime of mine
