Art has always been exciting to me. I learned at an early age that I could get into flow and create things that opened great doors for me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create art with purpose. My work is usually emotionally driven (murals, paintings, and photography) that honor people or stories that deserve to be remembered. I love to mix beauty with truth. It can be appealing to the eyes but also deep enough for the mind to play, reflect, or even challenge. I’m always happy when my art sparks a meaningful dialogue. I don’t want to make boring art. It can’t just be pretty. My favorite art is unforgettable and quietly powerful.
Where do you find inspiration?Right now, my inspiration comes from real life… grief (my mom just passed away), love (people I adore are easier to paint), survival (I’m fighting for my life against lupus), and victory (I’ve tasted success before and now I’m addicted to it). I need to make important art for my city, my country, my family, celebrities, and world leaders. I’m never bored because there is always something to make or plan. I want my art to make a positive impact on the world.
What would you do with $25,000?I will invest a portion of the funds into my nonprofit organization ARTcation so we can expand free art workshops and mentoring to youth. Also, I have already chosen a group of talented high school kids to team up with me on a large scale public mural that would unite the community in the capital of PA. I’d fund that project and pay the students for their time. Next, I’ll finally get all my painting collections professionally appraised. Then I’ll start taking multiple online classes at Harvard.
