What is your favorite type of art to create?

Ceramic sculpture/hand building of marionettes who contain their unique spirit, personality and soul inherent in their presence represented by the expressive modeling of body parts, facial features, and surface treatments.

Where do you find inspiration?

Nature; Archaeology; Art History; Mythology; Classical Literature; Creative Fashion (including costume design for cinema and theater); Children’s Art; Folk Art; African masks and Sculpture; Arts of Indigenous Peoples past and present.

What would you do with $25,000?

I’d like to donate this money to pay for a grant to an art teacher to teach a classical (representational) drawing class to children from Somalia in their first year of high school in a low income high school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This class would be taught either once a week for 2 hours after school, or during a school break at no cost to students.
