My excitement from oil painting is taken from nature. Coastal scenes, trees, towns and destinations. The scenes I choose, in some way, touch emotions; a place you spent summer vacations, a road you remember driving, a favorite beach where you can remember the smell of salt air. This is where my art comes to life and touches the soul!
Where do you find inspiration?I reside in Southern California and inspiration is all around me! I focus on the beauty of California… the crashing waves of the ocean, the roads that drive past memorable views and fascinating points of interest, the wetlands and nature at the coastal regions. I never lack for artistic scapes that I can transfer to canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?I would reinvest that money back into artistic adventures. Upgraded art supplies, for sure, but also for giving back. I was able to donate about 6 oil paintings I did for an organization who gathered up artists to volunteer their time and talent to paint homes lost in the Altadena/Palisades/Malibu fires. It was heartwarming to get responses back of how much it meant to them. It’s amazing how paint on canvas with an artist’s vision can touch lives.
