My will to create is fueled through constant curiosity and the necessity of self-expression to regulate emotions and combat darkness within.

I enjoy the incorporation of unconscious processes when creating artwork. Working in many different styles and mediums, each one uniquely represents a different feeling or thought process, so it is hard to determine a favorite. The most enjoyable art for me to create starts organically, without preconceptions. Experimenting with new ideas and techniques is most exciting when they reveal an image that can be further developed in a multitude of directions.
Where do you find inspiration? The most honest inspiration for me to create is found through the necessity for self-expression and the process of creation. Through deep introspection and truth seeking, the underlying journey of self-discovery guides me to my next artwork. I find motivation in uncomfortable feelings, thoughts, and places. Creation from darkness helps me to manage internal struggles and create subjectively truthful work. In the light I find beauty in nature, animals, and the connections between others.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the winning opportunity to connect with others and attempt to work towards creating more mental health awareness for creatives in my city of Pittsburgh. Money-wise I would like to make a donation to less fortunate creatives in need or to attempt to kickstart an artistic event. I would also use the money to help start my own professional art career by providing myself with upscaled materials and equipment. A trip abroad for artistic enrichment may be beneficial as well.
