There’s something magical that happens when you blend surreal imagery with more impressionist techniques. It helps me root to something familiar while still breaking the rules of our own system’s limitations.
Where do you find inspiration? From all of those who ventured to create before me. Recently, it has mostly been in nature, and more specifically in seashells. They’re the greatest evidence that proves a life has endured, and the visualization of the spiraling out and overcoming hardships with age brings me a lot of comfort.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d use it to rent my first studio space so that I can work larger scale! Everything not used for that specifically would go toward materials, because I’d like to explore taking up more space and craft a real dimensional experience to accompany my paintings. Ideally I’d like to work with found objects, plaster, and wire to do so.
