because i'd rot from the inside out if i wasn't in this pursuit of this passion. it's not about the money, it's my life's work.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
vinyl toys, sofubi specifically
Where do you find inspiration?i find aesthetic inspirations from ideas of what kinds of life could lurk in the cosmos. aliens, kaiju, sometimes strong imagery, and typically end up combining this with whatever challenge or grievance i might be dealing with in my life; in order to be able to create and look back fondly. i was diagnosed with stage 3 pulmonary sarcoidosis in 2023. it's been majorly important to me ever since to decide what mark i want to leave behind, and i do that with sofubi
What would you do with $25,000?i would immediately dump $10,000 into a production run for myself and my daughter, and put the rest towards both of my daughters savings accounts. my oldest daughter isn't yet 10, but has made some impressive works of art that i have resin casted for her so that she could sell her own toys. she's had a lot of successful vending experiences and i honestly couldn't be more proud to see my daughter absolutely crushing it, and i want to put one of her works into a real factory vinyl production.
