Receive Text UpdatesMy name is Duda Penteado, known as the “Artivist.” My favorite type of art is multidisciplinary, spanning performance, video, installations, murals, sculpture, and painting. I’m drawn to work that engages directly with people and public space, creating dialogue and impact. My practice focuses on social issues such as racial injustice, sustainability, cultural identity, and globalization, using art as a tool to connect communities and inspire reflection on the challenges of our time.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in global social issues and the human experience; racial justice, sustainability, cultural identity, and the complexities of our interconnected world. My work reflects the perspective of a global thinker, shaped by diverse cultures and lived experiences. Through art, I seek to spark dialogue, challenge perspectives, and create spaces where communities can engage in meaningful conversations about shared human concerns, both locally and internationally.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would create “Tribal Lines,” an immersive art installation inspired by over two decades of research in the Amazon and with the Xingu Indigenous tribes of Brazil. The project reconnects ancestral knowledge with contemporary expression through mixed media, including interactive mural, paintings, pottery, and video installations.
