I make small things. I find validation when someone bends over to take a closer look and engages in my works.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create small things. When people see my work, they get close. They lean in and really engage. So satisfying to see them engaged with my creations.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in dark, creepy, weird, abandoned scenes. An eerie feeling can be experienced by anyone. Being alone or even with others can create a fear without an overt scare or graphic scene. I make items that go into my art from found things sometimes natural items or mixed mediums to create the perception of components we may recognize in our current world. Often age, neglect, and nature take their toll i find weather and decay occur, I try to recreate this in my miniature works.
What would you do with $25,000?First thing would be to expand the creative space, my studio. More southern exposure windows for natural light. If I could, I would love to be able to purchase more tools and technology to create things as elements in my work.
