Art has been a big part of my life since day one. I'm not great with words but my art gives me a way to express myself without them.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I enjoy creating oil paintings the most. The blend of colors to create light and depth is unmatched. My art has creepy undertones despite my use of bright colors. I'm also a tattoo artist which allows me to give people permanent art. Of course clients have the idea of what they want so I don't have as much freedom doing that as I do with oil painting. I try to create what I want without trying to please others.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everything. I think beauty is all around but I mostly paint people and hands. Bodies are strange and beautiful and I try to capture that. Audrey Kawasaki is a great inspiration of mine. Her use of human bodies and organic shapes to create flow and feelings in her works is something I aspire to.
What would you do with $25,000?I have debts that I would pay off, but who doesn't. I would invest most of it, I think. Try to help myself along in this economy. A small portion would go into my tattoo studio (pINK Tattoo) and printing prints of my oil paintings to get my work out in the world, finally.
