I enjoy creating seriograph prints that are visually geometric and typographic in combination with color theory, symbolism and encrypted messages. The viewer is invited to decipher and reveal the message that provides guidance in life and understanding our reality. The symbols and 5 digit binary alphabet title are clues into the message. The seriographs are blueprints to work that is translated into concrete sculptures that visually resemble a modern hieroglyph.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from experiencing life and immortalizing impactful moments that influence myself as a spiritual being and the world me live exist in. I also enjoy nerding out on ancient civilizations throughout the world but primary from the Mesoamerican Region/ Modern day Mexico. These ancient beings created and utilized symbolism in hieroglyphs in order to leave behind messages and record human history for future generations to understand. I want my work to contribute in the same way.
What would you do with $25,000?In all honestly I would take my family out to eat, not only because they're my biggest supporters but the moments I share with them heavily influence my work. I would invest into creating and donating a public art piece which is one of many of my goals as an artist. Purchase art materials such as Permaset ink, BFK Rives paper, seriograph screens, emulsion, canvas, wooden panels, and cement mix to create a new body of work. Then I would finally invest into an art studio where I'll create work.
