Toy photography empowers me to build miniature worlds, breathe emotion into plastic, and turn childhood wonder into visual art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My absolute favorite type of art to create is fine art and macro toy photography. I specialize in taking 1/12 scale action figures—particularly from franchises like Marvel, DC, and G.I. Joe—and staging them in deeply cinematic, narrative-driven scenes. For me, it goes way beyond just snapping pictures of collectibles. I focus heavily on the psychology of the characters, using careful posing to explore themes of tension, conflict, and duality.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from past published media content of my subject matter as well as intermingling current or past world events as needed.
What would you do with $25,000?I would utilize the money to help out my family financially; pay down debts, improve the quality of our life as much as possible and invest in the future of my three children.
