I create art to give voice to buried emotions and to honor the resilience of people and memory.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’m most drawn to creating expressive figurative work that explores human emotion and lived experience. I focus on faces, posture, and movement as a way to tell stories—often centered on identity, femininity, and resilience. I’m less interested in perfect representation and more in capturing a feeling or moment that people can connect with.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from the daily life from people their expressions, their struggles, and their quiet strength. I’m especially inspired by women and the emotional layers they carry. My background, cultural identity, and experiences of movement and change also influence my work. Sometimes inspiration comes from a single expression, a memory, or even a feeling I can’t fully explain but need to translate visually.
What would you do with $25,000?would invest in creating a focused body of work for exhibition, and allocate part of the funding to support communities in Sudan impacted by the ongoing war.
