Art has always been a way for me to heal and express myself in ways I couldn't otherwise articulate.

I create contemporary art and abstract work in both acrylic and oil mediums.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration is derived from my beautiful Mexican and indigenous culture. I am fascinated by vibrant colors and festivals. However, much of my work centers around darker yet vibrantly beautiful themes, such as day of the dead and beautiful cultures. Many of my pieces are centered around skulls and bones, remembering the foundation of who we are. I find it beautiful to continue the stories of those who came before us.
What would you do with $25,000?I am currently a PhD candidate working on my dissertation in public health epidemiology. I would use the money to finish my education and further my research goals in endometrial cancer. My hope is to increase awareness and quality of life for my family and my community.
