I create art because I love exploring how artwork changes spaces. I love color and seeing how it can brighten moods.

Abstract painting is my focus. I love experimenting with color, materials, and texture to create expressive, layered work. I’ve been developing this style consistently for nearly two years, and it often sparks genuine shock and surprise from viewers. That reaction drives me—I enjoy chasing that moment of unexpected connection and emotional response through my art.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from music and the abstract expressionist movement. Studying other artists’ materials and processes strongly shapes my approach. In the studio, I work with an intense, focused drive, like a workout. Upbeat pop and rap fuel my momentum, especially in the early stages. I’m especially drawn to vibrant pinks and blues, influenced by my admiration for the ocean’s rich, shifting color palette.
What would you do with $25,000?In truth, I would use this funding to help sustain my art practice after college. I will receive my BFA in Painting in May 2027, and I am still navigating the next steps in my career. While there is no clear path to becoming an artist, the support and networking opportunities this platform provides would be invaluable in helping me build connections, gain exposure, and establish a stable foundation for my work moving forward.
