What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favourite work to create is figurative sculpture focused on the human body in tension. I am drawn to contorted musculature, fragmentation, and surfaces that reveal strain, pressure, and vulnerability. Working three-dimensionally allows me to explore the physical weight of these experiences while making internal struggles visible. I often pair sculpture with drawing to deepen the narrative of identity, endurance, and the cost of performance.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the body under pressure, shaped by my experience as a varsity athlete. I am drawn to moments where strength and vulnerability collide through strained muscles, repetition, and quiet endurance. I also look to lived experiences of mental struggle, using the body as a site to express what cannot be easily seen. Inspiration emerges through observation, memory, and an ongoing exploration of identity, control, and resilience.

What would you do with $25,000?

$25,000 would directly support my tuition at the New York Academy of Art, making my MFA financially possible. This funding would reduce my reliance on loans and allow me to fully dedicate myself to developing my sculptural practice, which explores the physical and psychological strain of athletic performance. It would provide access to critical training, resources, and mentorship essential to advancing my work and future career.
