Music. I make art in many forms, paintings, tattoo art, sewing, even pastries, but music is the language of my soul, and the craft I’ve dedicated my life to. When I was young I wanted to be a rockstar, and as an adult that has grown into a want to be a voice people can hear and connect to, to know that nobody is an island, and none of us have to feel alone, whether it’s in love, or sorrow.
Where do you find inspiration?Lived experience. The trauma of a harsh childhood and chronic illness, and in the beauty of the world around me, and human connection. A hard day will bring music to my bones the same way a perfect day will, and both forms bring something unique to the table. I’m inspired by life, the good, the bad and the ruthless. Everything is art if you’re willing to see it.
What would you do with $25,000?I would put it into the creative flow. I would use it to record an album, and what remains of it would likely be put towards savings to continue recording music later, or into foundations that advocate for education in the arts, to continue a legacy of expression and making the world a more creative place.
