I paint the unseen pulse of spirit and emotion, giving voice to what lives quietly beneath the visible world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create atmospheric, narrative-driven paintings that explore the presence of both animals and human subjects, often intertwined. My work moves between realism and abstraction, where light, texture, and form begin to dissolve. I am drawn to creating pieces that feel alive, where the subject carries a quiet intensity and a sense of presence beyond the surface.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everything around me, especially in what is easily overlooked when attention slips. Iām drawn to places that carry stillness and depth ā remote landscapes, shifting weather, quiet winter terrain, and encounters with animals. Travel, particularly through the Scottish Highlands, has shaped my visual language. I notice small, precise moments and hold onto them until they begin to form something that feels both grounded and just out of reach.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to buy time ā the most valuable resource in my practice. Time to create work at a scale and depth that cannot be rushed. The rest would go into presenting that work with the same level of care, so it enters the world exactly as it was meant to.
