I am a self taught artist and I create because I NEED TO, to make sense of what I feel and give a voice to my inner world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create narrative, symbolic art rooted in meaning and engagement. My work is driven by storytelling and reflection on humanity, empathy, and responsibiity. Five years ago i stepped away from large acrylic paintings to explore the possibilities of small formats, focusing on hand-drawn illustrations.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in current events and personal experience. My current work began as a response to the war in Ukraine, while at the same time my involvement in rescuing pigeons shaped my perspective and introduced me to a community dedicated to their protection. This convergence led me to explore the pigeon as a modern figure of the Bird of Peace, a powerful symbol often overlooked and mistreated today. My art addresses compassion, responsibility, and our relationship with the living world.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were awarded $25,000, I would use it to support the development and presentation of my work. It would allow me to properly frame and exhibit my pieces, travel to share them in different places, and invest in higher-quality materials. It would also support the production of my artist books, which are an integral part of my practice and help make my work more accessible. Overall, it would help my work grow, circulate, and reach a wider audience in a sustainable way.
