I’m drawn to painting the human form and its silent language. Working in oils and acrylics, I use intense color to reveal emotion and identity through gesture, presence, and feeling—things words can’t quite hold. I’m especially interested in how body language already communicates so much on its own, and how painting can heighten that expression even further.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everyday human behavior—small gestures, posture, and the way people carry emotion without speaking. It can come from anywhere: a passing moment, a memory, or something I notice in a face or movement. I’m also inspired internally, by emotional states and how they shift and surface through the body.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to take a meaningful step forward in my work by creating space for a small solo exhibition of my paintings. I would also invest in continuing my practice independently so I can keep developing as an artist. A portion would be donated to causes I care about, including animal shelters, the YWCA, and support for emerging artists. The rest would be saved toward my long-term goal of opening my own gallery one day.
